Kiku Lani does not write romance as a genre accommodation. How the Club Works
The circle reads one novel per month. Titles are announced in advance so members can acquire books and begin at their own pace. Discussion opens mid-month, giving everyone adequate time with the text before the conversation begins.
Discussion is organized around three tracks: emotional response, craft observation, and personal resonance. These tracks are not rigid; they are intended as entry points. Not every reader will approach a novel the same way, and the circle values the variety of those approaches as much as it values consensus.
The tone is warm and intentional. There are no required opinions and no gatekeeping of what a legitimate reading looks like. The Velvet Fire Reading Circle™ holds space for the reader who cries at the end of a romance novel and is not embarrassed by it.
